FALL 2008 GOLF NEWS

TIM RANDALL will be playing for SANTA ANA COLLEGE on the men's golf team in the Spring of 2009. Not bad for a guy who picked up a golf club just over a year ago, made his high school varsity golf team after just 9 months of being on his lesson/practice game plan, and then being recuited by coaches Gorie and Morgan at SANTA ANA COLLEGE. I look forward to watching Tim's game improve as he competes for the Dons.

NATALIE DINGAS qulified for a spot on her high school varsity girl's golf team, and will be playing for Foothill High School for the Fall 2008 season. Quite an accomplishment, given Natalie has only been playing and taking lessons for about 6 months!! She's been working hard, sticking to her game plan, having fun, and is ready to lead Foothill into a great season. Go get em' Natalie!

Way to go DANTE FARANACCI for shooting 79 at Riverview Golf Course, and breaking 80 for the first time. Dante has been staying on his game plan, playing golf and taking lessons since April 2008 and has seen his scores coming down almost weekly. Dante will be playing for Foothill High School in the spring on the boys golf team as a freshman.

The 1st annual "Summer Scramble" fundraiser for the Santa Ana College Women's Golf Team was a great success. Held at Riverview on August 20th, it should have been named the "Summer Sizzle" with temps in the mid 90's! But with lots of water handy, everyone stayed cool, though some of the play was "hot". Winning team was Whittemore, Shade, Reed, and Leahy. Congratulations, and thanks for your super support for the SAC Women's Golf Team. Tell a friend about next year's event on Friday Aug 29th 2008, 1:00 at Riverview. $99 per player.

Speaking of sizzle, Sam Shade of the SAC Women's Golf Team shot a 78 on 10/3/07 at Oak Creek GC in Irvine....just one shot shy of being medalist for the day. Way to go Sam!
